Founded by Josh Turner in 2015, with a simple purpose of changing the meaning of a pair of socks. From an off the cuff comment while sitting around with friends of 'what if socks, could change the world?'. Stand4 has been on a journey to just that. With over two years spend developing the best sock advancements (yes socks!) to having impacts all over the world from each pair.  Stand4s have seamless toe closure to avoid iteration, reinforced heel and toe to avoid those annoying holes, to bold patterns designed to get noticed and stand out for the causes that matter to you! 


Each pair is directly linked to a United Nations Global Goal, working towards eradicated all types of poverty by 2030. This is reflected by a cause logo on the ankle. One pair of socks plants 10 trees, whereas another vaccinates 3 kids against measles in Bangladesh to providing a years clean water in Ethiopia to much more! Making picking socks out each morning a meaningful start to the day. 

Stand4 Socks was set up by Josh Turner at the age of 23. From being involved in start ups from the age of 7, he joined the New Entrepreneurs Foundation accelerator programme after graduating. After exploring many various ideas Josh found his passion in social enterprises, and feels that all organisations should have a social purpose built into their model, CSR (corporate social responsiblity) has gone from a "nice thing to do, to a must".

Combining his love of eccentric socks and self taught graphic design skills, with social purpose entrepreneurship - Stand4 Socks was born. To date it has won the David Pearl Pitch Prize, and bronze for Great British Social Entrepreneur of the Year 2015, and currently shortlisted for Great British Creative Entrepreneur of 2016! 

We strongly believe that businesses should be about more than just profit. Organisations bottom line should have two outputs, profit and purpose. Imagine a world where through every purchase, however big or small, has a positive impact on the lives of someone else. 

Global consumer spending on goods and services is forecast to reach $40 trillion by 2020. Imagine if by then, just 1% of this (or more!) was directly having an impact on those in need. 

We want our socks to stand out for the right reasons, not wrong. Therefore responsible manufacture is extremely important to us. We spent over a year finding the right manufacturer who shared both our vision and high values. Producing quality socks, uniquely designed socks shouldn't cost the planet and humans rights. Simple.
